Screw this

Another artist who gets great results with unusual material - in this case Andrew Myers, who uses thousands of screws to create a 3D portrait. First seen here.

Absolut Transylvania

Another example of the well-known Absolut vodka advertising campaigns or variations thereof - depicting the vodka bottle shape. This one is by New York advertising photographer Steve Bronstein. Perhaps more subtle, but the shape can be distinguished if you look hard enough. First seen here.

Average women

An interesting experiments: from numerous shot of women from one country/region, a software programme calculated the average face - to surprisingly beautiful results. A sample is shown above. First seen here.

Camera

Rather than making money with his art, Won Park makes art with his money. Amazing structures folded from dollar bills, such as this camera. First seen here.

Fukitol

I guess we all sometimes could use one of these. First seen on Fukung, a site I never link to because of their content.

Sucker punch

These kind of pictures are getting old quick usually, but this is one of the best and most original I have seen so far. First seen here.

Firefox has frozen

Love this one, even though I switched to Google Chrome some time ago. First seen on Fukung, a site so unsafe for work I never link to it.

Levitation

A cool idea, well executed. Natsumi Hayashi photographs herself floating around Tokyo. To achieve the look of levitation it is crucial that you do not appear to be jumping: a controlled facial expression and lack of apparent movement, a moment frozen in time, rather than mid-jump.

First seen here.

Bohemian vinyl

Back from Shanghai, and I will start posting here again. Maybe at a slower pace at start though. Love this one, a great example of how our mind can quickly recognize and match a simple pattern. First seen here.
