A sewing basket?

Well, not exactly a sewing basket, although you could fool most people with this picture - thanks are due to Carole Poirot for drawing my attention to this one some years ago. It is actually a cake, created by Meg Davis, a chef at North Devon District Hospital. This masterpiece is made of Madeira sponge and covered with sugar paste. All the contents of the box are individually made of sugar paste. The completed cake and decorations took some 30 hours to complete. First seen here.
